This hitch is made for those hauling serious fifth wheels. The A20’s interlocking 2-jaw system locks completely around the king pin for 360-degree contact. That design eliminates much of the movement you get from slide-bar hitches, so there’s less rattle, less chucking, and a smoother ride. A quick glance at the color-coded lock indicator tells you exactly what’s happening with your jaws: red means uncoupled, yellow means ready to couple, and green means locked for towing. The handle locks for security with a padlock (sold separately) and resets itself automatically after uncoupling so it’s ready for your next hookup.
The fully articulating torsion head self-aligns as you back in, helping the king pin slide smoothly into place on the included lube plate. Once connected, it absorbs road shock and cuts down on noise so long drives are more comfortable and less fatiguing. The motion feels controlled and predictable over bumps or uneven roads.
When it’s time to clear your truck bed, pull one pin to lift off the head—no tools required. The hitch separates into manageable sections so one person can remove it without equipment. Exactly what I needed. Product was back-ordered so that tells me it's rather popular. Was a bit of a pain to assemble but I anticipated as much because the directions left much to be desired for my particular setup. Otherwise, etrailer.com was very good about communicating and easy to deal with. Will shop with them again.
Bought in conjunction with a Reese Sidewinder pin box and can say this hitch was easy to put together and is very heavy duty. Well made and easy to use and maintain! Dropped right in my Ram puck system with minimal adjustment required. Arrived on time.
The Curt A20 has performed flawless over the last8 months of use. Easy to hitch & unhitch with no chucking. Excellent product in my opinion. Etrailer shipping was fast and pricing was fair!
Hitch was not delivered all together ( legs one day the head the next ) which delayed my trip. That was ups’s fault. Hitch is very good quality but very heavy!

Having trouble getting the locks that hold the hitch in the truck to be easy to open and close. Have had a popping noise when stopping and accelerating, found adjustments on tightness of latches needed adjustment. That cured the noise issue but the hitch is very hard to unlatch and remove from the truck. Called Curt about this issue they say that they have never heard that problem.
Only had one issue with the A20 and that was probably my fault. After the hitch had been installed about six months, when the jaws would not close. Sprayed the lock and spring assembly with some WD40 and it has worked fine ever since. If I'm in a lot of rain, I'll spray it down every couple of weeks. Great hitch and would hesitate to buy it again.
Never had a fifth wheel prior to this. We went with CURT after some research and considering cost. Very pleased. Install went well. works well. We like the color stickers - verifying the configuration of the hitch. Highly recommend. We even called CURT directly once when we thought it was not working but they guided us back on track.
I use this on a 2020 ram 2500, and love it! Hook up is easy and secure, making truck and trailer feel like one! I have not experienced any chucking, since I started using this! Only con is the weight like any 5th wheel hitch, once on truck, I leave installed for season.
The hitch works great. After 15000 miles of towing, the only issue is the height adjustment. We do a lot of national forest/bml camping. Sometimes the roads are a little rough to say the least. The lowest adjustment point allows the 5th wheel to ride fairly level. But at times in very sharp turns or on some of the rougher trails, the trailer has hit the bedrails. If we move the hitch to the next adjustment, it rides nose high. On the highway, it causes a rougher ride. If we move it to the lowest, it rides very smooth. Although it is only 4 bolts and only about 30 minutes to switch the adjustment, it is somewhat annoying. In the end the hitch is great with easy maintenance.
Everything went as described. Don't believe they could have made an easier install. Will be hooking to 5th wheel for first time Saturday. Little heavy but was able to handle it. So easy to go together one man can do it without an extra hand helping. Work smart not hard!

Still working great, go camping once a month and have not had any problems
Very happy with etrailer and the purchase of Curt 20K fifth wheel hitch for my new Ram 3500 that fit perfectly in the factory fifth wheel prep package. etrailer customers service was helpful with questions about the shipment while in transit. The hitch came in two cartons and the assembly was straight forward with easy to follow instructions. The Curt hitch is a high quality well engendered device with well thought out features that should perform greatly for many years to come.
This is a very good hitch. If connects to my dodge puck system very well. This hitch is much easier to hitch and unhitch than the other brand I had. My only issue is that it is supposed to separate into two pieces to make it easier to move. However, I have not yet been able to separate it.

Works great, still unable to separate, have to moveremove it in one piece..
This was a real pain to get assembled and installed without any assistance. The assembly instructions for the legs has a list of compatible heads, and the A20 was not on that list, but it assembled just fine and Curt website said it was OK. Doing the assembly in the truck bed helped by loading in each of the parts and taking off the head, thus keeping the weight of each part minimal. It dropped right in to the pucks without issue, then I completed the final torqueing. I haven't towed with this yet so cannot comment on that part. I was rather perturbed to find out this was made in China. This needs to be stated in the description. I would not have bought it if I had known that.

This hitch has worked out well, and I have used it for towing our 33 foot 5th wheel over 24,000 miles since installation, including the rough Alaskan Highway. My only complaint is that there are several areas of rust popping up on the frame. Manufacturing still needs to be moved out of China they are not our friend.
Fits like a glove. Extremely easy to assemble. No issues at all.

Still working perfectly. Easy to hook and unhook. I drive a tractor trailer and this fifth wheel releases easier that the one on my tractor trailer.
Very nice hitch, easy assembly. Haven’t had any problems hooking up, head has play so you don’t need to be perfect backing into hitch. Bought a ram 17 Cummins and this hitch to go with it at same time between the hitch and truck can’t tell the 12000 lbs camper is back there. Very little hitch noise. Easy and fast shipping also. The only complaint is the hitch is heavy! Make sure you have help to remove or install.

Went on 5-6 camping trips this year 2000ish miles no complaints. Never once thought I’d that latched. Installed eye hook and chain hoist in garage, hoist up back under, lower down into bed, fixed that problem of being heavy ha. I will continue to use etrailer for my trailer needs for sure good product and ships fast!

Very impressed with this hitch . I was a little thrown off by how heavy it really is but it looks great and feels split . The head price is really smooth as it rolls around. It should really help with towing noised and chucking .
Installed relatively easily, just a little heavy getting it in to the bed of the truck. Everything else fit perfectly.

This hitch was extremely easy to install! Although the locking handle maneuvered slightly different than the Curt videos I saw online, the intuitive design made it a breeze to set up. As a first time 5th-wheeler, this product has exceeded my expectations so far.
I have not towed yet with this unit, but I feel confident that this product will be able to tow my 16k lb 5th wheel.
I sent emails to find out if I could use my Q-24 head on Ram legs since I traded Trucks Shelia helped me said can’t be done. So I Ordered the Curt for Ram puck system. Received it 3days later. 2boxes intact. Took my time assembling. Instructions would be nice to have larger fonts. I depend on etrailer to have the product and the assistance to make the correct decision.
Ordered the Curt A20 with Ram OEM puck legs on Friday. etrailer stated shipping would be 3-5 days. The hitch arrived in perfect condition on Monday...simply amazing! The hitch was manageable by myself to install. It comes in 4 pieces: (2) legs, (1) cross member to connect the legs together, and then the hitch head itself. I assembled the legs first and easily lifted them into the bed. I took the hitch pin out of the bracket and installed the bracket with 4 bolts. I then inserted the hitched head back in and replaced the pin. Simple install and the hitch is nice and solid...and does not rattle due to the rubber dampening.
Purchased this Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs Item # C16044 to go in 2019 RAM 3500 DRW and tow 16,750# 40’ fifth wheel with 3,145# hitch weight. Newbie to 5th wheels and I haven’t taken delivery of the trailer yet so I set it in the highest position. Judging by how high it’s sitting I may have to let it down to the next setting. Easy assembly by myself although it is heavy. Seems well made. No adjustments needed to get it to sit in place. Came in 2 boxes and one was torn but nothing missing. Happy with it so far.
Two boxes del by UPS in good shape for the weight, I installed this myself, while still boxed I lifted into my Ram 2500 to handle easier, installed into my pucks then assembled the rest, went very well, the label they want you to put on driver side you can’t even read, let alone while holding in hand, we will be heading to the mountains of Colorado soon, we’ve always had a bumper pull till now, I’m sure this will work very well, this is 20K double jaw, thank you

After a year this 5th wheel hitch has worked very well, a Curt A20, tow to Sea of Cortez, to Colo Mountains and I have no complaints, I would recommend this hitch to anyone
